About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Telecom Supervisor to support the delivery of a high-profile offshore topside project. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic international team working on a large-scale greenfield development. The successful candidate will be embedded within the construction team during the execution phase, responsible for overseeing all instrumentation and telecom-related construction activities at the yard and supporting pre-commissioning and commissioning scopes.
This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong track record in topside fabrication, installation, and commissioning. You will play a key part in ensuring the quality, schedule, and safety of telecom and instrumentation systems, while managing day-to-day supervision of contractor and vendor activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor instrumentation and telecom installation and testing activities at the topside fabrication site and vendor facilities.
- Ensure works are executed in accordance with project specifications, procedures, codes, and applicable standards.
- Verify and validate contractor drawings, methods, ITPs, and ensure that adequate resources, tools, and manpower are in place.
- Coordinate closely with construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning teams, ensuring seamless transition through project phases.
- Ensure ATEX compliance and liaise with relevant discipline engineers and safety teams as required.
- Track progress and ensure alignment with project milestones, reporting any deviations or non-conformities to senior discipline leads.
- Participate in inspections, audits, and daily meetings, and maintain up-to-date records of site activities and findings.
- Contribute to a strong HSE culture by promoting safe working practices and intervening when unsafe acts or conditions are observed.
- Support project phases beyond construction, including hook-up and offshore commissioning if required.
- Maintain confidentiality of project data and adhere to company values and regulatory requirements at all times.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent qualification approved by the client.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in oil and gas instrumentation and telecom construction, preferably on offshore topside facilities.
- Valid CompEx certification covering Modules EX-01 to EX-04.
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation installation, cable routing, termination, calibration, and loop checks.
- Strong understanding of international codes and standards related to instrumentation and telecom systems.
- Previous exposure to large EPC projects with interface management and multi-discipline coordination responsibilities.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a proactive and organised approach.
- Familiar with pre-commissioning and commissioning tools and databases.
- Able to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to international worksite conditions.
- Willing to travel globally and support offshore phases as required.
- Valid offshore survival training (e.g., BOSIET) and H2S certification.
