Overview
We are seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to support the maintenance, servicing, and commissioning of process control instrumentation across site operations. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to work alongside specialist vendor engineers and contribute to safe, efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities

Schedule, perform, and record routine and non-routine maintenance checks and repairs.

Service process control instrumentation including transmitters, controllers, analysers, and related equipment.

Assist with vendor-specified routine maintenance and installation/commissioning of new plant facilities.

Ensure all site services are maintained in good working order and comply with safe working practices.

Respond to 24-hour call-outs where required and provide technical advice on plant breakdowns outside normal hours.

Perform equipment isolations to ensure safe maintenance.

Support operational staff and other technicians, demonstrating understanding of process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.

Work alongside specialist vendor engineers to ensure timely and quality servicing of equipment.

Supervise and liaise with contractors to ensure work is completed to required standards and permit conditions.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping to keep facilities safe, clean, and free from preventable hazards.

Continuously update technical knowledge through training and liaising with equipment suppliers.
Requirements

Eligible to work in the UK.

Experience in maintenance and servicing of process control instrumentation.

Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.

Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and to adhere to safety regulations and permit-to-work requirements.

Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
