Job Title: Instrumentation & Fire and Gas (F&G) Engineering Specialist

Location: Onshore, Ras Laffan / Doha HQ
Employment Type: One-year initial contract with potential extension
Work Schedule: 8–10 hours per day, Sunday to Thursday

  • Single status: 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off

  • Couple status: 30 days annual leave
    Visa Requirements: Candidates must be eligible for work visa (RP)

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Fire and Gas (F&G) Engineering Specialist to provide technical support during project execution, commissioning, and startup of large-scale onshore facilities. The role will focus on ensuring systems meet operational expectations for safety, reliability, and maintainability throughout the facility lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support for Instrument/F&G systems, including design reviews, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and failure analysis

  • Develop and implement surveillance and administration programs for critical Instrument/F&G systems to achieve high standards of reliability, availability, and cybersecurity

  • Define best practices and recommend performance improvement initiatives

  • Develop plans and schedules to ensure effective completion of tasks, meeting section and division KPIs

  • Provide technical input to other disciplines and support overall business objectives

  • Supervise and guide contractors, consultants, and service providers

  • Mentor junior engineers in implementing integrity and reliability systems

  • Support project tie-ins and high-risk commissioning activities, including system surveillance, tuning, and optimisation of Instrument/F&G systems

  • Maintain an issue register to identify and resolve critical risks, including those related to new technology

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, LNG, or similar industries

  • Strong working knowledge of DCS, PLCs, ESD/F&G systems, anti-surge control, metering systems, and turbine/compressor control systems

  • Familiarity with SIL requirements and engineering standards

  • Ability to make decisions under high-pressure conditions

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and people management skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software (SAP, CONVAL, InstruCal, or equivalent)
