Instrument & Fire & Gas (F&G) Engineering Specialist – Onshore
We are seeking an experienced Instrument & F&G Engineering Specialist to provide technical support and advisory services during the EPC and start-up phases of major projects. The role ensures project deliverables meet operational expectations in terms of safety, reliability, maintainability, and operability throughout the facility’s life cycle.
Key Responsibilities

Provide Instrumentation and F&G engineering support including design reviews, SIL assessments, HAZOP participation, commissioning, start-up, failure analysis, and advanced troubleshooting.

Develop and implement surveillance and administration programs for critical Instrument and F&G systems to ensure high reliability, availability, and cyber security standards.

Define and document best practices within the area of expertise and recommend performance improvement initiatives.

Develop work plans and schedules to ensure effective completion of tasks, meeting KPIs.

Provide technical input to other disciplines and functions to support overall business objectives.

Supervise and control activities of contractors, consultants, and service providers.

Mentor and guide less experienced engineers in implementing integrity and reliability systems.

Facilitate smooth completion of project tie-in requirements for all systems under responsibility.

Maintain issue registers to identify and resolve critical issues, including new technology risks affecting reliability, availability, and cyber security.

Support high-risk commissioning activities for complex and large-scale projects by system surveillance, tuning, optimization, and advisory support to operations and maintenance teams.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 8 years’ experience in an oil and gas environment.

Strong working knowledge of DCS, PLCs, ESD/F&G systems, Anti-Surge Control Systems, Metering Systems, Turbine/Compressor Control Systems, and SIL requirements.

Proven ability to work and make decisions under high-pressure conditions.

Fluent in written and spoken English.

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Computer literacy: Microsoft Office, SAP, CONVAL, InstruCal.
Contract & Work Details

Duration: 1-year initial contract with possibility of extension

Work Location: Onshore (Ras Laffan / Doha HQ)

Work Schedule: 8–10 hours per day, Sunday to Thursday; 12 weeks ON / 2 weeks OFF (single status), 30 days annual leave (couple status)
