Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Operator to play a high-impact role within our gas distribution network. This position will leverage your technical expertise to shape engineering standards, influence regulatory frameworks, and drive innovation. You will provide strategic engineering insight, ensure compliance with statutory and company standards, and mentor the next generation of engineers. Your work will support asset risk assessments, regulatory engagement, and overall network safety, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on C&I systems, instrumentation, control systems, and SCADA within hazardous environments.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations including EAWR, DSEAR, EPS, and other statutory requirements.

  • Interpret complex technical data, drawings, and standards to make sound engineering decisions.

  • Mentor, influence, and manage technical teams and stakeholders.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to engineering processes and standards.

  • Represent the organization in interactions with regulators, industry bodies, and external partners.

Requirements:

  • Strong expertise in C&I systems and SCADA in hazardous environments.

  • Solid knowledge of relevant regulations and statutory standards.

  • Excellent engineering judgement, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Proven track record in continuous improvement and technical mentoring.

  • Full UK driving license.

  • Eligible to work in the UK.
