INSTALLATION SUPERVISOR
Location: China (Site-based)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage offshore installations, heave lifts, and non-routine installations such as topsides, jackets, and critical subsea installations (including pipelines, umbilicals, skids, tie-in spools, risers, and J-Tubes).
- Ensure successful delivery of assigned field projects, adhering to approved scope of work, drawings, engineering design, safety, environmental, and industry standards and specifications.
- Oversee and advise bidders/contractors on all offshore heavy lifts and subsea installations, ensuring compliance with approved method statements, project schedules, quality, and material requirements.
- Guide contractors during tendering/bidding, engineering phases, and approve contractor deliverables.
- Participate in engineering workshops such as constructability reviews, SIMOPS, schedule risk analysis, 3D model reviews, HAZOP, HAZDEM, lifting plan reviews, and provide constructive input.
- Join all offshore campaigns related to pipeline, umbilical, and subsea installation work.
- Monitor, control, and report on contractor's performance, manpower deployment, equipment use, and identify construction slippages.
- Act as the construction risk management representative, identifying risk events, proposing mitigation measures, and ensuring their implementation onsite.
- Liaise with senior discipline engineers throughout all project phases to address construction matters across engineering and procurement stages.
- Review contractors' installation plans, schedules, method statements, procedures, and offshore logistics.
- Maintain daily project progress records and communicate anomalies or deviations, recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with work permits and the related conditions.
- Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to offshore sites post-contract award.
- Interact regularly with contractors, projects, and departments to identify and resolve construction issues, with specific liaison with production and maintenance teams.
Requirements:
- Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND), Diploma in Mechanical from a recognized university.
- 8-10 years' experience supervising offshore installation of EPIC projects such as oil and gas production/wellhead platforms, jacket structures, pipelay, cable lay, and associated construction and material inspections.
- Extensive knowledge of construction management, communication, conflict resolution, and safety/quality control.
- Completion of relevant courses in safety, quality control, and construction is an added advantage.
- FEED and EPIC project experience and strong skills in reviewing/approving contractor deliverables.
- Full proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent knowledge of offshore installation industry engineering standards, quality control, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Strong analytical capability to interpret method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules, and drawings.
- Effective at identifying bottlenecks/problems and proposing solutions.
- Able to supervise and motivate a multi-national, multi-cultural workforce.
- Computer literacy.
