Job Title
Data Centre Industry Advisor and Business Development Lead
Location
Fully Remote
Based anywhere in Europe
Employment Type
Full time, part time, or consultancy basis
Overview
We are an established workforce and recruitment solutions provider that is expanding its presence across the European data centre market.
Rather than following a traditional recruitment sales model, we are deliberately building senior, industry-led relationships. The focus is on credibility, long-term value, and deep sector understanding.
This role is designed for an experienced data centre professional who wants to stay commercially active, influential, and connected, without moving into a transactional sales or recruitment position.
Recruitment experience is not required.
Role Summary
As an Industry Advisor and Business Development Lead, you will act as a senior industry-facing representative. Your role is to open doors, shape opportunities, and guide how workforce and resourcing solutions are positioned within the data centre sector.
You will:
- Leverage your network and credibility
- Identify workforce, skills, and project resourcing challenges
- Introduce the organisation to relevant decision-makers
- Convert industry relationships into long-term partnerships
This is a strategic, relationship-driven role rather than a high-volume sales position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain senior-level relationships across the data centre sector
- Engage with developers, owners/operators, EPCs, OEMs, and Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors
- Open discussions with procurement, commercial, and project leadership teams
- Identify upcoming projects, frameworks, and long-term workforce needs
- Advise internally on market dynamics, skills shortages, hiring models, and contracting trends
- Support the structuring of commercial proposals and partnership models
- Act as a trusted industry advisor rather than solely a business development contact
KPIs & Success Measures
KPIs will be transparent, flexible, and aligned with long-term value. Examples include:
- Number of meaningful senior-level introductions
- Active commercial discussions initiated
- Framework or preferred supplier conversations opened
- Quality and depth of industry engagement
- Contribution to secured projects or agreements
- Strategic market intelligence provided
KPIs will be tailored based on sector, seniority, and availability (full-time vs part-time).
Who We Are Looking For
Essential
- Strong background in data centres
- Experience in roles such as engineer, project manager, commercial manager, procurement, supply chain, or construction/operations leadership

- Comfortable operating independently and remotely
Desirable
- Experience across multiple European markets
- Exposure to large-scale capital projects
- Understanding of contractor and supply-chain ecosystems
- Experience working on frameworks or long-term service agreements
What This Role Is Not
- A cold-calling sales job
- A traditional recruitment consultant role
- Target-driven in a high-pressure, short-term sense
The organisation values relationships, credibility, and insight over transactional selling.
Location & Working Model
- Fully remote
- Based anywhere in Europe
- Flexible working arrangements
- Open to full-time, part-time, consultancy, or advisory setups
- Semi-retired professionals are welcome to stay engaged
