Overview
A leading energy operator is seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist Specialist to support workplace health protection across onshore, offshore and offsite facilities. The role focuses on identifying, assessing and controlling occupational health hazards while ensuring full compliance with regulatory and industry standards. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective exposure risk management, develop industrial hygiene programmes and support long-term health protection strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Industrial Hygiene Programme, ensuring alignment with applicable occupational health standards and regulations.

  • Conduct Health Risk Assessments and present findings to operational, project and leadership teams.

  • Develop the annual Exposure Assessment Strategy and manage required equipment, consumables and planning documentation.

  • Design and evaluate monitoring strategies for personal exposure assessment across multiple facilities and Similar Exposure Groups.

  • Assess workplace health concerns and recommend suitable engineering or administrative controls to reduce exposure risks.

  • Support integration of medical monitoring where appropriate in coordination with internal health teams.

  • Conduct audits to verify conformance with industrial hygiene requirements and identify improvement areas.

  • Establish and verify effectiveness of engineering controls, work practices and personal protective equipment.

  • Develop and deliver training on health protection topics including exposure prevention, hazard communication, heat stress, hearing conservation, radiation protection, respiratory protection and ergonomics.

  • Contribute to national development initiatives by supporting competency building and training for local staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Health Sciences with relevant hygiene or toxicology coursework.

  • Professional certification such as CIH, ROH or COH preferred; additional safety certifications are an advantage.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in industrial hygiene or occupational health and safety, including at least 5 years in oil and gas, petrochemical or manufacturing environments.

  • Strong analytical, organisational and planning skills with proficiency in MS Office and related tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and levels.
