Position: HV & MV Electrical Construction Coordinator

Location: Qatar

Contract Type: 1-year | 5-days per week

Shift Pattern: Rotational night shift - 5 x 10-hour days (occasionally 6); occasional night duties

Role Overview:

Lead and coordinate all on-site medium and high-voltage (MV/HV) electrical construction activities for a chemical/petrochemical greenfield or brownfield project. Serve as the client focal point for HV/MV installation matters, ensuring compliance with international, company, and local electrical codes, standards, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee completion of site-based HV/MV construction and installation work packages (CWP/IWP).
  • Participate in integrated site planning and review contractor schedules, identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Track site schedule adherence, progress, and emergent issues; compile daily reports.
  • Coordinate with contractors and cross-discipline site teams to prepare work fronts and ensure smooth execution.
  • Function as client focal point for technical and non-technical queries, providing guidance and proactive solutions.
  • Inspect active work fronts to ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and technical standards.
  • Promote productivity, quality, and adherence to HSE standards, including LOTO procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Recognized Electrical trade/craft qualification or engineering degree in Electrical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' site-based MV/HV electrical installation and testing experience within chemical/petrochemical construction.
  • Previous experience as a competent RPE (Responsible Person for Electrical works) preferred.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Competent in project management and discipline-specific software; computer literate.

  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams, yet autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent analytical, task management, and planning abilities.
  • Sound understanding of electrical construction practices: substations, cable installation, switchgear, motors, protection systems, HV cable splicing/jointing, and associated industrial infrastructure.
  • HSE-minded with strong client representation skills and initiative.
