Overview
A leading renewable energy operator is seeking a High Voltage Lead Technician to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage electrical systems across a portfolio of clean-energy sites. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient performance of critical high-voltage assets while maintaining compliance with all applicable industry standards and regulations. You will supervise a team of technicians and work closely with engineering and operations teams to drive high performance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of high-voltage technicians, providing guidance on troubleshooting, technical processes, and safety protocols.

Oversee timely response to system outages and coordinate corrective actions, including relay and fault analysis.

Manage maintenance and operation of high-voltage equipment such as transformers, switchgear, relays, and substations.

Deliver regular training to ensure the team stays current with industry best practices.

Enforce safety compliance, including OSHA and NFPA 70E requirements.

Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.

Supervise testing, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of high-voltage assets.

Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance system performance and support new technology integration.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance reporting.

Provide updates to leadership on system condition, operational performance, and team output.

Travel up to 75%.
Requirements

Substantial experience working with high-voltage electrical systems.

Experience within the renewable energy sector is strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of relays, protection systems, and diagnostic tools.

Ability to interpret and apply electrical schematics.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide and develop a technical team.

Experience with energy storage systems is an advantage.
