Overview
A leading renewable energy operator is seeking a High Voltage Lead Technician to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage electrical systems across a portfolio of clean-energy sites. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient performance of critical high-voltage assets while maintaining compliance with all applicable industry standards and regulations. You will supervise a team of technicians and work closely with engineering and operations teams to drive high performance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of high-voltage technicians, providing guidance on troubleshooting, technical processes, and safety protocols.

  • Oversee timely response to system outages and coordinate corrective actions, including relay and fault analysis.

  • Manage maintenance and operation of high-voltage equipment such as transformers, switchgear, relays, and substations.

  • Deliver regular training to ensure the team stays current with industry best practices.

  • Enforce safety compliance, including OSHA and NFPA 70E requirements.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.

  • Supervise testing, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of high-voltage assets.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance system performance and support new technology integration.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance reporting.

  • Provide updates to leadership on system condition, operational performance, and team output.

  • Travel up to 75%.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience working with high-voltage electrical systems.

  • Experience within the renewable energy sector is strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of relays, protection systems, and diagnostic tools.

  • Ability to interpret and apply electrical schematics.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide and develop a technical team.

  • Experience with energy storage systems is an advantage.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
