Contract Term: 36 months, with potential extension
Job Purpose
- Lead all telecommunications engineering activities across all project phases
- Ensure compliance with technical and regulatory requirements
- Provide field engineering support as required
- Coordinate and align telecoms systems integration across multiple project teams
- Support early works, construction, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure all activities comply with company safety, health, environment, and quality requirements
- Demonstrate safety leadership and actively participate in safety briefings and site walkdowns
- Deliver telecom engineering in line with regulations, codes, standards, and project specifications
- Resolve telecom-related engineering issues to meet project objectives
- Participate in workshops including layout studies, constructability reviews, and 3D model reviews
- Ensure integration of telecom systems including data networks, PAGA, surveillance, and access control
- Provide telecom engineering input to other disciplines, procurement, construction, commissioning, and completions
- Support tendering activities including clarifications and bid proposal reviews
- Monitor contractor performance and timely delivery of all telecom engineering documentation
- Capture and implement lessons learned, especially for existing operational facilities
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of engineering experience, including:
- At least 6 years in the oil and gas sector
- At least 2 years in a supervisory, acting, or oversight role
- Experience across all project phases including start-up and handover
- Strong knowledge of engineering standards, specifications, and execution methodologies
- Hands-on experience with telecom and security systems including:
- Radio networks (UHF, VHF, TETRA)
- IP networks and industrial networks
- Access control and CCTV/surveillance systems
- Alarm systems (PAGA)
- LAN, wireless networks, routers, switches, and servers
- Ship-to-shore communication systems
- Hazardous area equipment compliance
- Proficiency in fibre optic and copper network design, duct banks, and cable tray infrastructure
- Strong leadership, coordination, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Fluent English
