Working Hours: 10 hours per day, 5 days per week, 22 days per month

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Head of Rotating Equipment to lead and oversee all aspects of rotating machinery engineering for a major onshore energy project. The role involves managing engineering deliverables, monitoring contractor performance, and ensuring technical compliance across design, installation, and operational readiness of rotating equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all engineering activities related to rotating equipment, ensuring technical objectives are met within scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Provide guidance to contractors and engineers, facilitating resolution of technical issues and ensuring timely delivery of design and construction milestones.

  • Monitor engineering progress, schedules, and deliverables from contractors and internal teams.

  • Ensure machinery engineering work complies with regulatory, safety, and industry standards.

  • Review and approve machinery designs, recommendations, and programmes to optimise integrity, safety, and efficiency.

  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, and quality teams to address technical issues.

  • Track lessons learned and implement continuous improvement within the discipline.

  • Provide oversight of high-pressure systems, rotating equipment design studies, and vendor/manufacturer outputs.

Person Specification – Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience, including at least 6 years in the energy sector.

  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role with responsibility for contractors and project teams.

  • Proven experience managing all phases of project execution, including start-up and handover.

  • Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, change management, interface management, commissioning, and handover processes.

  • Experience with contract management, vendor coordination, and negotiations.

  • Experience in high-pressure pumping systems and pulsation study methodology.

  • Familiarity with rotating equipment design, installation, and maintenance best practices.

Technical and Business Skills:

  • Strong analytical, organisational, and planning abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Deep understanding of industry standards and practices for machinery and rotating equipment.

Work Environment:

  • Onshore, operational project site with interaction across multiple engineering and construction teams.

  • Dynamic, high-responsibility role in a multi-national environment.
