Position Title: Head of Lifting (MP & NFPS)
Location: Qatar (Onshore)
Assignment Term: 36 months
Working Hours: 10 hours/day, 6 days/week (12 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation)
Work Allocation: 100% Onshore
Job Purpose
The Head of Lifting for Major Projects (MP) and Non-Facility Projects (NFPS) serves as the focal point for all lifting discipline matters, guiding project teams with deep expertise in lifting operations, safety protocols, and industry best practices. This role ensures robust assurance processes, compliance with company standards, and the reduction of strategic risk exposure through incident investigations and corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the MP/NFPS focal point for lifting discipline, providing guidance and support across multiple concurrent onshore/offshore projects.

Develop, maintain, and enforce assurance processes to ensure compliance with the MP Lifting Code of Practice.

Review, consolidate, and update lifting standards and best practices.

Lead high-potential lifting incident investigations, identifying root causes and managing corrective action implementation.

Interface and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve lifting-related technical and safety issues.

Support resource allocation, recruitment, and onboarding for lifting personnel within projects.

Manage risk screening and formal risk assessments related to critical lifting operations.

Facilitate knowledge sharing and promote a proactive safety culture emphasizing industry-leading best practices and Life Saving Rules.

Maintain a robust reporting system for lifting operations, identifying trends, vulnerabilities, and driving continuous improvements.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

OPITO LOLER Competent Person certification.

Minimum 10 years’ experience in lifting discipline, with extensive knowledge of lifting equipment management, inspections, certifications, and operational compliance (onshore/offshore).

Familiarity with international standards such as API, ASME, BS, DNV, ISO, and LOLER regulations.

Experience in establishing compliance and assurance processes aligned with corporate and international standards.

Prior role as a Lifting SME or Technical Authority within Oil & Gas operations is highly preferred.
