Overview
An established engineering business with a diverse portfolio across the water, nuclear, and energy sectors is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering. This is a senior leadership position overseeing a key part of the company's design capability, with responsibility for multi-discipline teams working on large-scale infrastructure programmes.
The Role
- Lead a multi-discipline engineering team across various live projects.
- Act as the primary link between engineering, delivery teams, and external partners.
- Manage workload, resource planning, and team capability.
- Oversee progress, risk, and overall team performance.
- Ensure technical quality and consistency across all outputs.
- Contribute to future work pipeline and help shape upcoming opportunities.
- Drive improvements in engineering delivery and methodologies.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams on complex projects.
- Strong background in team management across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- In-depth understanding of design delivery covering multiple engineering areas.
- Ability to manage workload, priorities, and team structure effectively.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement at all levels.
- Experience within infrastructure, energy, or similar engineering sectors.
- Passionate about influencing and owning outcomes at a senior level.
- Motivated by the stability of long-term project pipelines.
- Eager to shape, develop, and mentor engineering teams.
- Values flexibility and hybrid working arrangements across the UK.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Chartered status (or working towards) is preferred.
