Head of Commissioning (Inlet.)
Overview
We are supporting a major onshore energy infrastructure development in the Middle East and are seeking an experienced Head of Commissioning to lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for large-scale process facilities.
This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for contractor delivery, technical assurance, planning, system completion, and safe execution through to start-up. The position offers long-term project exposure on a high-profile onshore development.

Worksite: Onshore office and site-based environment

Assignment term: 36 months

Work schedule: 8 to 10 hours per day

Working pattern: 6 days per week, approximately 26 days per month

Leave rotation: 12 weeks on, 2 weeks off
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide leadership and technical oversight of all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities delivered by EPC contractors

Ensure safe and compliant execution across all disciplines including process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, telecom, and HVAC

Steward contractor planning, scheduling, systemization, completions, documentation, and reporting activities

Manage contractor resources, competencies, procedures, and execution strategies to meet project milestones

Maintain close coordination with engineering, construction, quality, safety, and operations teams

Ensure commissioning activities align with project specifications, objectives, and technical standards
-
Monitor progress against schedule, identify risks, and implement recovery plans where required

Review and validate commissioning procedures, specifications, and work packs

Support audits, witnessing, troubleshooting, and technical resolution during execution

Capture lessons learned and ensure knowledge sharing to support future project phases
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Knowledge and Experience
-
Minimum of 10 years experience in commissioning leadership roles within large industrial or energy projects

Proven commissioning planning and execution experience on LNG liquefaction or comparable process facilities
-
At least 2 years experience in a supervisory or lead role overseeing contractors or multi-discipline teams

Strong expertise in systemization, completions management, and development of pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures

Hands-on experience commissioning large rotating equipment, compressors, turbines, pumps, piping systems, electrical and instrumentation systems, and utility systems

Demonstrated ability to lead and influence large, multi-discipline teams in complex project environments
