Head of Asset Management – Renewable Energy
Location: Australia (multi-state, with travel required)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced senior leader to set the strategic direction and manage the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of a large portfolio of renewable energy assets, including solar and battery facilities. This role oversees geographically dispersed, high-value assets across multiple states, ensuring compliance with asset management plans, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
You will be the senior escalation point for outages and emergencies, accountable for operational performance, O&M contractor management, supplier relationships, HSE leadership, and asset performance monitoring. This position requires technical confidence, decisive leadership, and strong stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver against operational and financial KPIs, including budget ownership and P&L accountability

Lead asset management, O&M, and HSSE teams, ensuring resources and capabilities meet business needs

Oversee asset planning, maintenance programs, outage management, and emergency response

Manage relationships with regulators, contractors, market operators, off-takers, lenders, and local stakeholders

Ensure timely, accurate reporting for internal and external stakeholders

Develop and implement budgets, capital projects, and operational plans

Maintain full compliance with regulatory and environmental standards

Support business growth by providing lessons learned from operations to development and engineering teams

Coordinate delivery and review of business continuity plans
Qualifications and Experience

Relevant tertiary degree in engineering, finance, or technical discipline (postgraduate qualifications such as MBA or MSc desirable)

At least 15 years’ experience in the energy industry, including 10 years in operational leadership roles managing power generation assets

Strong understanding of risks associated with renewable assets (solar, battery, and other technologies)

Proven ability to lead diverse teams across multiple functions and geographies

Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting

Solid planning, project management, and problem-solving skills

Strong focus on HSE leadership and compliance with industry regulations

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
