Job Title: GIS Analyst
Location: Office-based, Qatar
Schedule: Residential, 5 days per week

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst with a strong background in geomatics and GIS technologies to support operations. The role involves working with a variety of geospatial and engineering data, including Drone, LiDAR, and BIM data to integrate and support projects within the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with ESRI platform, ArcGIS, and BIM software while being able to handle complex GIS tasks such as data mining, data integration, and advanced geospatial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Processing & Integration: Process large datasets from Drone mapping and LiDAR scanning of assets and integrate this data into GIS systems to support ongoing projects and operations.
- BIM Conversion & Management: Convert Building Information Management (BIM) data into GIS format and upload it into the GIS database for seamless integration and accessibility.
- Technical Support: Provide GIS technical support for incident management during emergency/crisis situations.
- Data Mining: Perform data mining to extract relevant geographic and engineering attribute data from multidisciplinary engineering drawings (CAD files), operation manuals, inspection reports, and more, for GIS updates.
- GIS Database Management: Carry out GIS database edits after processing and ensuring quality assurance of data received from multiple sources to maintain an up-to-date corporate GIS database.
- Geospatial Solutions: Assist Senior GIS Engineers in developing geospatial business solutions to meet evolving business and operational needs.
- Reporting & Data Organization: Populate attribute data gathered from engineering records and site verification into MS Access database and MS Excel; link AutoCAD entities with records in MS Access using external database connectivity.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, GIS, Geomatics, Geography, or related field.
- Postgraduate degree in Geography/GIS is highly desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the field of geomatics, with 5 years in the oil and gas industry.
- 5 years of experience working with the ESRI platform, particularly ArcGIS Pro and Portal for ArcGIS.
- 5 years of experience working with Drone data management software (e.g., Drone2Map, Agisoft Metashape, PiX4Dmatic, Itwin Capture Modeller).
- 5 years of experience working with Building Information Management (BIM) software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Naviworks, ArcGIS GeoBIM, Trimble Connect, Autodesk BIM 360).
- Experience with creating 3D mesh, 3D models, orthomosaics, DSM, DEM, etc., from Drone and LiDAR data capture.
- Experience in gathering, integrating, QAQC, and cleaning up spatial data to reveal patterns and perspectives for front-end engineering support.
- Advanced scripting skills using Python, Java, ArcPy, ArcGIS ModelBuilder, and ArcObjects ArcGIS SDK for JavaScript.
- Experience with data extraction, translation, and loading CAD files into GIS without supervision.
Technical Skills:
- ArcGIS 3D Analyst, Image Analyst, Network Analyst for solving complex analytical problems.
- Solid experience with data mining to extract geographic and engineering attributes from various engineering documents.
- Experience in performing corporate GIS database edits and maintaining quality assurance on incoming data.
- Strong skills in using GIS tools and managing spatial data integration across different platforms.
