Kintec are currently partnered with a pioneering Steel Industry/ Roll Shop Services Company company who are looking for a General Manager to drive forward the Company's continuous improvements, improve quality & delivery performance and exceed KPI's.

DESCRIPTION 

for the overall strategic and operational leadership of the company, ensuring sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and financial profitability. The GM will lead cross-functional teams, drive business development, and ensure compliance with industry regulations while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. A strong emphasis on workplace safety will be integral to this role, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all employees. The GM will be required to report on company performance to the Board of Directors on a regular basis and collaborate with co-workers across the globe. The GM will cover the role of Project Manager until the plant is fully established. Training will be provided across Europe within existing client facilities. Travel will be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute business strategies to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, including production, logistics, quality control, and maintenance.
  • Financial Performance: Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize financial performance while ensuring long-term profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Safety Management: Champion a strong safety culture by implementing and enforcing rigorous safety protocols, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering , Business Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in management within the heavy industry sector.
  • Proven track record of leading and growing an SME.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and operational best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Knowledge and experience in workplace safety, including hazard identification, emergency preparedness, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Experience of dealing with people matters with an understanding of relevant employment legislation, such as productivity, efficiency, performance and morale.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Business Development: The ability to identify growth opportunities, establish strategic partnerships, and expand the company's market presence.
  • Process Improvement: Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality. Experience with process optimization, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure business continuity and sustainability.
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Performance Reporting: Experience of reporting company performance, financials, and operational updates to Directors.
  • Global Collaboration: Ability to work closely with co-workers across different locations, cultures and time zones to align strategies and business goals.
  • Knowledge of the steel industry.
