Contract Duration: 6 months initial length with possibility of extension
Shift Pattern: 37.50 hours per week (5 days per week) (Potential Overtime)
Role Determination: Inside IR35

Job Description

  • General Duties (GD) technician provides maintenance services to the Carrington production facility and the associated satellites.

  • Services are primarily focused on practical work at the various production plants, including general preventive maintenance, housekeeping and maintaining a safe working environment.

Nature and Scope

  • The primary role is to support the assigned production facility to ensure all general duty activities are completed.

  • There is an expectation to respond to requests to visit various locations during both normal and outside of normal working hours.

  • For this type of work the technician must be completely flexible and readily available.

  • At all times ensure that the required safety standards are adhered to.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensure that all production facilities are maintained to a safe and serviceable condition so that they can consistently attain their performance targets.

  • Ensure compliance with site statutory, mechanical integrity and preventative maintenance programmes.

  • Carry out routine housekeeping and preventative maintenance activities as defined by the GD work duties schedule in a timely manner.

  • Support corrective maintenance work associated with plant and equipment failures (breakdowns).

  • Work with the Mechanical Maintenance team to ensure correct spare parts and consumables inventory management.

  • Oversee LOLER/PULER inspections onsite.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • GCSE Maths, English and Science minimum grade C or equivalent experience in a similar position.

Professional Licence Requirements

  • Valid driver’s licence.

  • Forklift truck/telehandler licence.

Skills and Experience

  • Good interpersonal and team working skills (customers, regulatory bodies, OSC operators).

  • Able to work remotely and travel frequently.

  • Self-motivated independent worker.

  • Able to work at pace under pressure.

  • Experience working on industrial sites.

  • Industrial/plant maintenance experience.
