Job Title: FPSO Deputy / Hook-Up (HU) Manager

Assignment Type: Residential - Living allowance paid on top of day rate
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: Annually Renewable Contract
Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day

Missions / Service Dimensions
Under the responsibility of the FPSO Package Manager, the FPSO Deputy / HU Manager shall:

  • Develop and implement a field operations roadmap from FID to start-up, ensuring safe, timely start-up with minimal environmental impact and reduced flaring

  • Act as the Company's technical representative for the O&M contract, including pre-operations follow-up, preparation for maintenance and inspection, and digital/data interface management

  • Consolidate and optimize pre-operational and operational expenditures for the lifecycle of the field

  • Define and coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for subsea and topsides

  • Ensure engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation activities align with approved specifications and contractual requirements

Activities

Project Management & Technical Leadership

  • Enforce Company safety culture with contractors and subcontractors

  • Manage FPSO package costs and schedule

  • Oversee management of change, including variation orders, ensuring full contractual compliance

  • Plan resource allocation for all project stages

  • Review contractor documentation

  • Serve as acting FPSO Package Manager during absences

  • Lead hook-up, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and interface activities with other project packages

  • Support the Field Operations group for a seamless transition from EPSCC to O&M

  • Monitor local content implementation and in-country setup

  • Support organization and planning for field operations requirements

  • Support engineering follow-up relating to operability and maintainability

Engineering, Operations & SIMOPS

  • Review operating philosophies, operating manuals, maintenance manuals, site procedures, SIMOPS dossiers, and standing instructions

  • Review process and flow assurance studies including pigging, chemical treatment, slugging, turndown, subsea packing/depacking, and start-up

  • Follow procurement of operational spare parts

  • Support commissioning strategy and ensure appropriate organization from start of execution to start-up

  • Ensure planning and preparation of production SIMOPS activities, including SIMOPS dossier preparation

  • Supervise Project Control activities for the FPSO package

  • Oversee risk management activities for the FPSO package

  • Track subcontracting activities and delivery milestones

  • Monitor the FPSO package budget, cost control, and identify cost-reduction opportunities

  • Monitor FPSO package schedules, including yard progress and integration into the project's overall schedule

  • Lead transversal activities or task forces when required

  • Oversee FPSO Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and documentation capitalization

  • Support HR coordination and mobilization planning

  • Provide consistent reporting to FPSO Package Manager and support change order management and claim handling

  • Maintain strong communication with package managers, line managers, and project control teams

  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to close-out reporting

Context & Environment
This role supports a major offshore development project in Suriname.

  • The project encompasses deep- and shallow-water field development, including reservoir management, FPSO systems, and subsea production/injection systems

  • Objectives include maximizing reserves, optimizing schedules, reducing costs, minimizing greenhouse gas emissions, and ensuring high technical quality under strong HSE standards

Duration & Location

  • Start date: ASAP

  • Duration: 1 year, renewable

  • Primary Location: Paris, France

  • Travel may be required to shipyards or associated execution sites

  • Status: Residential

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Minimum 20 years of Oil & Gas experience

  • Experience in major offshore frontier developments

  • Strong background in deepwater FPSO projects

  • Extensive Hook-Up and Commissioning experience for FPSO and subsea
