Field Service Technician – Field-Based
We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join a growing industrial solutions provider supporting customers across a range of sectors. This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on the inspection, maintenance, servicing, and safe operation of hazardous product storage and handling equipment at customer sites. Safety, professionalism, and service quality are central to this role.

Experience and Skills

Full UK driving licence.

Background in service, maintenance, engineering, mechanical, or technical roles.

Strong safety awareness and experience performing risk assessments.

Confident communicator with good customer-facing skills.

Physically capable of handling industrial equipment and working in site environments.

Well-organised with strong attention to detail for compliance and reporting.

Methodical problem-solving skills for diagnosing faults and addressing site challenges.

Comfortable working independently in lone-working situations.

Competent in using mobile devices, digital reporting systems, and basic IT tools.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Perform routine servicing, inspection, and maintenance of hazardous product tanks and associated equipment.

Conduct pre-service and post-service checks to ensure equipment is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Carry out dynamic risk assessments and stop work if conditions are unsafe.

Diagnose faults, identify defects, and recommend remedial actions.

Arrange purchase orders and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.

Complete service reports, inspection records, and compliance documentation.

Conduct annual engineering inspections and record findings accurately.

Explain tank operation, safe use, and basic maintenance requirements to customers.

Identify and report non-compliance with codes of practice or site safety standards.

Maintain tools, PPE, and van-based spares stock.

Liaise with engineering, operations, and scheduling teams to resolve technical issues.

Provide professional, knowledgeable technical support to customers.

Support delivery activities, including safe handling of hazardous products.

Identify opportunities for additional services, upgrades, training, or maintenance support.

Build strong customer relationships through technical credibility and reliable service.
