Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Location: East Midlands (field-based across regional sites)
Salary: Competitive base salary plus shift allowance, bonus, pension and company vehicle
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm with standby rota
Eligibility: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Overview
An established organisation within the energy sector is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to support operations across multiple sites in the East Midlands. This is a hands-on role offering variety, responsibility and the opportunity to play a key part in maintaining critical infrastructure.

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety and performance of electrical and instrumentation systems, working both independently and as part of a wider technical team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and report on the condition of electrical and instrumentation assets
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure system reliability
  • Perform instrument calibration and electrical maintenance activities
  • Complete all work in line with statutory and safety requirements
  • Support delivery of minor projects and upgrades
  • Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Participate in standby rota to support operational continuity
  • Assist in mentoring and supporting junior team members

Requirements

  • Experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within an industrial or energy environment
  • Strong understanding of maintenance practices and asset reliability
  • Experience with instrumentation calibration and fault finding
  • Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
