Position Title: Facility Manager
Location: Boden, Sweden
Contract Type: Annually Renewable Contract (minimum 3 days/week onsite required)


Role Purpose:

Lead and manage all facilities-related operations for a pioneering green steel production plant in Boden, Sweden. Oversee infrastructure, site services, waste and vehicle management, and workplace amenities, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable operations aligned with project goals and environmental standards.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for infrastructure, facility maintenance, and fleet management with a focus on sustainability and long-term efficiency.

  • Promote a robust safety culture across all site operations, ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Oversee road maintenance, waste management, fuel logistics, cleaning services, and facility utilities to support seamless plant operations.

  • Manage service providers, establish performance benchmarks, and monitor contract compliance.

  • Ensure the site restaurant meets quality, safety, and employee wellness standards.

  • Collaborate with internal departments including procurement, operations, and engineering to address and fulfill facility-related needs.

  • Supervise vehicle fleet operations and lead the development of client vehicle strategy and related contracts.

  • Coordinate infrastructure and services such as buildings, emergency generators, elevators, lighting, sewer, and coalescer systems.

  • Manage process cleaning services, including vacuum and high-pressure trucks, and oversee comprehensive waste management practices.

  • Support cost control and budget management for facility operations.

  • Contribute to the development and execution of ISO standards (9001/14001/45001) compliance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.


Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a heavy industry or large-scale manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, capital projects, start-up environments, or plant commissioning.

  • Strong leadership background within industrial operations and cross-functional team environments.

  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

  • Experience with ISO systems implementation (9001/14001/45001).


Competencies:

  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication in English; basic Swedish skills considered an advantage.

  • Deep understanding of safety regulations and facility management best practices.

  • High level of collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strategic thinker with strong planning and organizational skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance processes and operational standards.
