Job Title: Fabrication HSE Advisor
Location: Middlesbrough, UK
Contract Duration: Initial contract until 30-Nov-2026, with potential extension
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Advisor to support a major offshore fabrication project for a leading player in the renewable energy sector. This role is based on-site in Middlesbrough and will focus on health, safety, and environmental assurance at a fabrication facility involved in large-scale clean energy infrastructure.

About the Role
The HSE Advisor will work closely with the fabrication management team to implement and oversee health, safety, and environmental strategy on-site. The successful candidate will play a key role in risk-based planning, compliance assurance, supplier development, and promoting a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure supplier compliance with contractual HSE requirements

  • Conduct risk-based HSE assessments and inspections

  • Guide and support internal teams on HSE priorities and improvement plans

  • Implement and follow up on supplier assurance and activity plans

  • Participate in HSE incident investigations and drive root cause analysis

  • Support and verify supplier HSE reporting and performance metrics

  • Attend regular supplier and internal HSE meetings and workshops

  • Provide site presence and maintain consistent documentation within safety systems

  • Communicate operational HSE initiatives across the project team

  • Produce HSE documentation including internal guidance and induction materials

  • Monitor and update assurance plans; escalate issues as required

Deliverables Include:

  • Timely review and approval of supplier HSE documentation

  • Action tracking and follow-up

  • Regular participation in meetings and inspections

  • Structured data entry and monitoring in HSE systems

  • Routine site presence and field observations

  • Bi-weekly internal updates and performance reporting

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • IOSH or NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate (Diploma level preferred)

  • Approximately 5 years of HSE experience in industrial or fabrication environments

  • At least 10 years' experience in QHSE management is recommended

  • Strong background in incident investigation and root cause identification

  • Sound knowledge of UK health and safety regulations

  • Valid training in Work at Height and First Aid

  • Up-to-date medical certification (meeting fabrication site requirements)

  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English

  • Ability to influence, motivate and collaborate across multiple teams
