Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Industrial Relation Manager to lead labor relations and compliance across large-scale EPC oil and gas projects in Kazakhstan. The successful candidate will ensure alignment with labor laws, union agreements, and company policies, while driving proactive engagement with workforce representatives, trade unions, and project teams to maintain a stable and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce industrial relations policies in compliance with Kazakhstan labor regulations and EPC project agreements.
- Lead collective bargaining negotiations and resolve labor disputes through strategic dialogue and collaboration with unions.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with employment laws, compensation standards, and working condition regulations across all EPC phases.
- Serve as the primary liaison between HR, legal, and project leadership for addressing workforce grievances and resolving conflicts.
- Design and implement labor risk mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions and support project continuity.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor labor relations practices for compliance with EPC standards and agreements.
- Launch and manage employee engagement and welfare programs to boost morale and workforce retention.
- Establish performance monitoring systems to evaluate labor relations success and recommend policy adjustments.
- Represent the company in labor-related discussions with regulatory bodies, unions, and external stakeholders.
- Train and support leadership teams on labor compliance, dispute resolution, and industrial relations best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in an industrial relations role in an EPC or construction environment.
- Strong command of Kazakhstan labor laws and collective bargaining frameworks.
- Proven track record in labor dispute resolution and workforce engagement in complex project settings.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
