Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor

An established international engineering and construction organisation is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor to support the safe delivery of complex construction projects in Belgium.

The Role
As EHS Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture across site operations. You will work closely with project teams to ensure compliance with local regulations and internal standards, while driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain health & safety policies across project sites
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure corrective actions are followed through
- Advise project teams on best practice and regulatory compliance
- Support incident investigations and produce detailed reports
- Review and approve risk assessments and method statements
- Ensure site inductions are delivered effectively to all personnel and subcontractors
- Monitor welfare facilities and overall site setup standards
- Ensure permits to work and safety documentation are correctly managed
- Promote environmental awareness and ensure safe handling of hazardous materials
- Engage with site teams to reinforce a proactive and accountable safety culture
Requirements
- Proven experience in an EHS role within construction, engineering, or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of European health & safety legislation
- Experience working on large-scale or technically complex projects is advantageous
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence and engage teams at all levels
- Fluent English required; French language skills are highly desirable
