An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Team Lead to manage and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team within a regulated infrastructure environment.

This role combines technical leadership, team development, and project delivery responsibility across long-term water and utilities programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop engineers, technicians, and graduates
  • Build team capability and foster a strong, positive working culture
  • Lead design delivery across multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
  • Improve and embed engineering design processes and best practice
  • Support and drive use of digital engineering tools, including BIM and 3D modelling
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, compliant, and integrated design outputs
  • Manage workload planning, programme delivery, budgets, and resources
  • Oversee compliance with engineering standards, tools, and procedures
  • Manage design changes and ensure accurate documentation control
  • Support estimation and planning of engineering design activities

Requirements

  • Strong background in engineering design within regulated infrastructure sectors
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Track record of mentoring and developing engineering staff
  • Experience within water, utilities, or similar regulated environments
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership
  • Strong leadership, technical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working within structured design and delivery processes
  • Degree, HND, or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
