Emergency Response Lead

Location: Doha (with visits to onshore/offshore sites)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain corporate governance for emergency management covering mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience.
  • Ensure oil spill emergency preparedness complies with legislation, conventions, and standards.
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) in crisis management, business continuity, and risk mitigation.
  • Evaluate and assure emergency response plans across all QP directorates and departments.
  • Define competency requirements and training programs for emergency response teams.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on emergency preparedness performance.
  • Support development of recovery strategies and collaborate with business continuity teams.
  • Lead technical reviews of mutual aid arrangements and corporate HSE audits.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Emergency Management.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in emergency management, fire safety, or occupational health & safety-preferably in oil, gas, chemical, or petrochemical industries.
  • At least 10 years in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency preparedness, crisis management, and business continuity in the energy sector.
  • Excellent English presentation, report writing, and Microsoft Office skills.

  • Ability to interpret international codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management with internal departments and external agencies.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing standardized emergency response and training programs.
  • Capable of independent technical evaluations and decision-making aligned with legislation and corporate policy.

  • Requires coordination across diverse business units and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Managing emergency readiness across onshore, offshore, ports, marine, and diving operations.
  • Balancing regulatory compliance with operational realities in a complex environment.
