Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Testing & Maintenance Engineer to provide technical support for the installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment across onshore and offshore facilities. The role requires hands-on expertise with transformers, MV/LV switchboards, UPS systems, A/C, DC UPS, and other electrical systems, including supervision of cable tray works, LV/MV/HV cable laying and termination, and grounding systems. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to ensure high standards of quality, safety, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment including transformers, MV/LV switchboards, UPS, DC UPS, and A/C systems.
- Supervise cable tray works, LV/MV/HV cable laying and termination, and grounding systems (underground and above ground).
- Conduct relay and breaker testing, function tests, and protection relay calculations for Siemens, GE, and ABB systems.
- Execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, energisation, and acceptance tests for onshore and offshore projects.
- Develop maintenance strategies and provide technical input for offshore electrical equipment.
- Review electrical drawings, schematics, datasheets, specifications, and test reports for compliance with international standards.
- Operate and handle test equipment such as CMC-256, Freja 549, CPC-100, power analyzers, IR testers, VIDAR, PD Tan Delta, VLF, and HV Hipot kits.
- Perform testing of high-voltage MV/HV cables, transformers, and associated control systems.
- Coordinate project activities including site surveys, feasibility studies, project planning, monitoring, and progress reporting.
- Ensure quality, safety, and reliability of all electrical installations and maintenance activities.
- Liaise with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Provide support for offshore readiness, including medical fitness and adherence to safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- 8-10 years' experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and testing, including supervision of cable works and grounding systems.
- Proven experience in testing and maintenance of transformers, MV/LV switchboards, UPS, DC UPS, and other electrical equipment.
- Hands-on knowledge of electrical drawings, schematics, datasheets, specifications, international standards, and project documentation.
- Experience in offshore and onshore oil and gas, refinery, or petrochemical projects.
- Strong project coordination, planning, and monitoring skills.
- Familiarity with protection relays, high-voltage testing, and associated test equipment.
