Job Title: Electrical Technician – Instrumentation & Electrical

Overview:
We are recruiting an Electrical Technician to join a Top Tier COMAH site in Hampshire. Working within the maintenance team, you will support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production and gas plant facilities. The role is hands-on, covering electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure 24/7 plant continuity.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out routine and non-routine maintenance on process control and electrical equipment.

Service, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation, including transmitters, controllers, and analysers.

Support vendor maintenance activities and assist in installation and commissioning of new facilities.

Perform equipment isolations safely and in compliance with site procedures.

Liaise with contractors, vendors, and colleagues to ensure high-quality maintenance standards.

Participate in a 24-hour call-out rota for plant breakdown support.

Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and promote a safe working environment.
Requirements:

4–5 years’ hands-on experience in instrumentation and/or electrical maintenance, preferably in chemicals, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, energy, or process industries.

Relevant qualifications: Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (Instrumentation or Electrical).

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team.

IT literate, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks effectively.

Familiarity with live site operations, hazardous areas, and high-voltage systems is advantageous.

Full UK driving licence and own vehicle required.

Flexibility for weekend, evening, and bank holiday call-outs.

Call-outs: 5 hours base rate + minimum 5 hours at x1.5 (weekdays) or x2 (weekends/holidays).
