Job Title: Electrical Technician – Power Plant Systems

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Shift work and on-call duties may be required.

About the Role:
We are seeking an Electrical Technician to perform maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and testing on power plant electrical systems. The role ensures equipment reliability, operational readiness, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Maintenance Activities

  • Perform planned, corrective, and preventive maintenance on plant electrical systems and components.

  • Inspect and maintain motors, generators, switchgear, transformers, DC systems, excitation systems, and protection relays.

  • Conduct surveillance and functional tests to verify system performance.

Technical Maintenance and Testing

  • Transformers: inspection, DGA, OLTC, insulation resistance, winding resistance, and transformer turn ratio tests.

  • Switchgear: breaker timing, insulation resistance, functional tests, and busbar checks.

  • Motors: preventive maintenance, IR, PI, DAR, RFC, MCA tests, and calibration.

  • Generators: inspection, maintenance, and testing.

  • DC Systems: maintenance and battery inspections, UPS functional tests.

  • Protection Relays: primary and secondary injection tests.

  • IPB and AVR systems: inspections and functional tests.

Work Planning and Documentation

  • Prepare and stage maintenance activities, including spare parts requests.

  • Attend pre- and post-job briefings and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Training and Staff Qualification

  • Provide feedback on training and ensure adherence to maintenance standards.

Outage and Emergency Support

  • Support outages and emergency response operations.

Operational Efficiency and Planning

  • Contribute to work instructions and continuous improvement of maintenance practices.

  • Prepare reports to meet operational and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.

  • Minimum 2 years of electrical maintenance experience in power plant or industrial systems.

  • Preferred: nuclear or high-risk facility experience.

  • Proficient in electrical testing and maintenance for transformers, switchgear, motors, generators, DC systems, and protection relays.

  • Experience with testing equipment: Omicron Sibano 500, CT Analyzer, CPC 100, Testrano 600.

  • Knowledge of primary/secondary injection tests, IR tests, and mechanical protection device inspections.

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills.
