Electrical Supervisor – Nuclear Power Plant

Location: Abu Dhabi

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to provide leadership, technical expertise, and oversight for electrical maintenance and outage activities in a nuclear power plant environment. The role involves supervising staff, troubleshooting complex electrical systems, guiding engineering evaluations, and ensuring compliance with nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental standards throughout maintenance and outage activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and supervision for maintenance scopes of work, complex troubleshooting, operational decision-making, and temporary modifications.

  • Oversee planning, execution, and post close-out of electrical maintenance and inspection activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and plant policies.

  • Guide execution of defined work activities to improve reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and maintain compliance with plant design and regulatory standards.

  • Provide technical support during the identification, investigation, and resolution of off-normal equipment conditions.

  • Support development and scheduling of major equipment maintenance windows in collaboration with shutdown management.

  • Prioritize maintenance tasks to optimize resources and report results to engineering management.

  • Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and pre-job instructions to ensure high safety awareness.

  • Plan, organise, and execute work within scope to achieve required performance and productivity levels.

  • Ensure quality standards are met by implementing procedures, advising on problems, and cooperating on solutions.

  • Manage first-line disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues for supervised staff.

  • Contribute to staff training and evaluation to enhance competency and qualification programs.

  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, security, and crisis management policies.

  • Support knowledge sharing and development of internal team capabilities.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and adherence to quality management standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in nuclear power plant maintenance/outage environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

  • Experience with general electrical maintenance, primary and secondary side electrical systems, and valve operations.

  • Familiarity with SAP, Primavera, or equivalent maintenance planning tools.

  • Strong knowledge of nuclear safety procedures, industrial safety, and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to make complex technical decisions and lead teams under pressure during outages and breakdowns.

  • Competent in interdepartmental coordination and resource management.

  • Required to pass permit-holder and basic safety certifications, including confined space and radiation safety courses.
