Overview
A leading provider of critical power solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the engineering efforts for UPS and battery systems. This role is key to driving technical excellence, product enhancements, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the reliability and performance of power systems. The successful candidate will guide a talented engineering team, support professional development, and help shape the future of energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

Lead engineering projects for UPS and battery solutions across the full lifecycle, from planning and design to testing, commissioning, and in-service support

Manage, mentor, and develop engineering staff, providing training, cross-training, and professional development; conduct performance reviews

Oversee product enhancement programmes, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards

Supervise testing, instrumentation, and reporting for UPS and battery systems; support project leads in meeting schedules and deliverables

Maintain and improve configuration management and data retention processes to enhance engineering efficiency

Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Service teams to resolve customer and vendor issues, escalating as required

Support sales and business development by participating in risk reviews, bid evaluations, and solution scoping for customer specifications

Establish effective communication and collaboration with global R&D teams to support product development and innovation

Represent the organisation professionally in all internal and external interactions
Required Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

Minimum of 7 years’ experience in power and energy systems, ideally including UPS, battery, and power quality design, with at least 3 years in a management role, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Advanced technical knowledge of power systems, power electronics, and protection circuitry

Strong experience in testing, instrumentation, and report preparation in a power lab environment

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Proven leadership and team management capabilities

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimise engineering solutions

Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams on multiple projects
