Job Title: Medium Voltage Electrical Technician
Location: Viana do Castelo, Portugal
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a Medium Voltage Electrical Technician to play a key role in the construction, testing, and deployment of a full-scale wave energy converter. The role involves supporting all electrical works onshore and offshore, contributing to renewable energy projects, and ensuring high-quality installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Install, inspect, repair, replace, maintain, and test low to medium voltage systems, equipment, transformers, switchgear, generators, and distribution systems.

Assist in developing installation work packages for submarine cabling and electrical systems, supporting project scheduling and scope definition.

Ensure all electrical assets are installed to engineering and quality standards, both onshore and offshore.

Support refurbishment and operation of onshore electrical assets and power supply systems in manufacturing and research facilities.

Generate accurate technical documentation, reports, and drawings.

Interface with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding electrical systems.

Collaborate with other functions to support overall project objectives.
Skills and Qualifications:

2–5 years relevant experience with medium voltage equipment, including switchgear, transformers, and generators.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is advantageous.

Experience in medium voltage systems, both academic and industrial, including new product development.

Knowledge of Portuguese electrical standards, grid connection, and compliance requirements.

Hands-on experience with wire assembly, cable repair, and mechanical machine assembly is advantageous.

Experience with MV splicing, termination, and protection/control equipment is advantageous.

Ability to work in challenging environments, including climbing ladders and performing tasks in confined spaces.

Willingness to work in marine outdoor environments.

Proficient in Portuguese and English, both spoken and written.
