Electrical Engineer
Location: Hampshire
A leading engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering a range of energy transition and conventional energy projects. The role covers onshore, offshore, hydrogen, carbon capture, and renewable developments, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement that typically allows around 60% remote work each month.
About the Role
The Electrical Engineer will work closely with the Electrical Lead to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across all project phases. The role involves producing technical deliverables, supporting layouts and system designs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Drive technical improvement and support continuous enhancement of electrical engineering practices.

Work with the Electrical Lead to deliver projects effectively, maintaining quality, meeting deadlines, and staying within budget.

Produce accurate engineering calculations and ensure high technical standards across all design work.

Prepare key electrical deliverables, including design philosophies, single line diagrams (SLDs), equipment specifications, datasheets, reports, and technical notes.

Support layout development, including cable routing, substation arrangements, lighting, and earthing layouts.

Participate in short site visits or regional office trips to assist with project execution.

Stay updated on relevant industry regulations, best practices, and emerging standards.

Contribute to electrical system design in line with project and regulatory requirements.

Uphold strong safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout all activities.
Knowledge & Experience

Solid understanding of electrical requirements across traditional energy and renewables.

Experience with tools such as ETAP (power studies), DIALux (lighting), battery sizing, and standard electrical documentation (SLDs, specifications, datasheets, philosophies).

Exposure to electrical engineering in large industrial facilities (operations, maintenance, or design) is advantageous.

Comfortable working within a project-driven environment.

Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.

Able to manage workload proactively, resolve issues promptly, and support the Electrical Lead.
