About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to support plant-wide electrical maintenance, turnaround planning, and reliability improvement efforts at a major petrochemical facility. This is a critical, hands-on role focused on ensuring operational excellence and safety compliance across all electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
- Develop and execute electrical maintenance plans in coordination with plant operations and shutdown teams
- Lead electrical works during turnarounds, shutdowns, and routine maintenance activities
- Coordinate contractors and internal teams to ensure quality and safety compliance
- Conduct fault diagnostics and root cause analysis for critical electrical systems
- Review equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability and reduce downtime
- Support in planning and resource estimation, including materials, labour, and external services
Shutdown/Turnaround Execution
- Prepare work scopes and work permits for assigned electrical systems
- Supervise electrical isolation/de-isolation and liaise with grid/power utility providers
- Participate in feasibility studies and cost evaluations for equipment upgrades or replacements
- Conduct audits, job inspections, and contractor performance reviews during shutdown execution
- Maintain complete documentation of activities, including logs, reports, and closure records
Stock and Asset Management
- Assist with preparing annual requirements for spares and equipment
- Evaluate spare part levels and support inventory reviews
- Conduct technical evaluations for procurement and vendor selection
Projects and Continuous Improvement
- Participate in CAPEX/OPEX budgeting and project planning
- Recommend standardisation opportunities and process improvements
- Contribute to technical training, mentoring, and development of junior staff
HSE & Compliance
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company and regulatory HSE standards
- Liaise with HSE teams to resolve issues related to process safety and equipment integrity
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical maintenance within petrochemical or heavy industrial plants
- At least 3 years in a team lead or supervisory capacity
- Solid understanding of CMMS systems (SAP knowledge desirable)
- Strong knowledge of predictive/preventive maintenance, shutdowns, and electrical safety
- Familiar with industrial automation and control systems
- Excellent communication, planning, and leadership skills
