Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a technical team working on carbon capture, hydrogen, renewable energy, and onshore/offshore projects. This role will support design, calculation, and technical delivery while helping to drive continuous improvement in engineering practices.
The position offers hybrid working flexibility and exposure to technically complex, large-scale energy projects.
Key responsibilities

Support continuous improvement of electrical engineering practices and standards

Work with the Electrical Lead to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards

Produce accurate electrical engineering calculations and technical documentation

Prepare key electrical deliverables, including design philosophies, single-line diagrams (SLDs), equipment specifications, datasheets, reports, and technical notes

Support layout development for cable routing, substation arrangements, lighting, and earthing layouts

Participate in site visits or regional office trips as needed to support project execution

Stay up to date with industry regulations, best practices, and emerging standards

Contribute to electrical system design in line with project and regulatory requirements

Maintain high safety, environmental, and quality standards across all activities
Knowledge and experience

Strong understanding of electrical requirements in traditional and renewable energy projects

Experience with electrical engineering tools such as ETAP (power studies), DIALux (lighting), battery sizing, and production of standard electrical documents (SLDs, specs, datasheets, philosophies)

Exposure to large industrial facilities in operations, maintenance, or design is beneficial

Comfortable working in a project-driven environment

Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills

Able to proactively manage workload, resolve issues, and support the Electrical Lead

Positive, flexible, and solutions-focused approach to teamwork and stakeholder engagement
Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
