About the Role
Orbital is seeking an Electrical Construction Coordinator to join our Electric Services Construction Coordinator Program. This role focuses on planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction activities on Electrical Substation, Transmission, and Distribution projects. Coordinators are assigned to a single project for an extended duration, ensuring that project goals are met safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous safety oversight, ensuring compliance with all site safety procedures; report safety incidents and unsafe activities.

  • Participate in pre-construction planning, drawing reviews, and constructability assessments. Inspect sites and complete pre-construction checklists. Ensure all permits and site-specific plans are in place and posted.

  • Inspect construction work to ensure adherence to specifications, drawings, permits, and safety/environmental policies. Manage communications with construction crews, client project managers, and engineering teams to resolve RFIs or issues.

  • Identify field-purchased material and equipment needs, coordinate ordering, deliveries, and maintain material inventory to prevent project delays.

  • Prepare Daily Log Reports documenting project progress, schedule deficiencies, safety incidents, and compliance with specifications.

  • Maintain redline construction drawing markups, conduct weekly safety audits, manage scope changes, confirm utility locates, and verify crew timesheets.

  • Occasionally climb ladders and lift/move up to 50 pounds as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years relevant construction or maintenance experience

  • Ability to pass a post-offer drug and alcohol test (including marijuana) and comply with random testing requirements

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field

  • Experience in Commercial/Industrial Transmission & Distribution projects

  • Familiarity with structural, mechanical, or electrical construction and drawings/prints

  • OSHA 10-hour and MEA-specific training beneficial

  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
