Job Title: Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector

Location: Botlek, Rotterdam, Netherlands
Duration: Annually Renewable Contract
Work Schedule: 5 days/week, 10 hours/day


Job Purpose

The Electrical and Instrumentation Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation installations on site comply with the applicable Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality standards, and safety regulations. The role is essential for maintaining the integrity of project execution and ensuring quality control throughout the construction and commissioning phases of a green hydrogen production facility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of Electrical and Instrumentation installations according to ITP/ITR requirements.

  • Review and provide feedback on contractor ITPs, procedures, and documentation.

  • Sign off Inspection Test Records (ITRs) using the client’s Completions software.

  • Compile, manage, and sign off test packs and completion dossiers.

  • Support the Site Quality team with project-related quality reporting and documentation.

  • Attend and contribute to internal and contractor site meetings.

  • Ensure adherence to the client’s EH&S policies and all site-specific rules and restrictions.

  • Issue and manage punch-lists and non-conformance reports (NCRs); monitor and drive resolution and corrective actions.

  • Anticipate site issues and escalate them appropriately while proposing effective solutions.

  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly site reports.

  • Participate in system walk-downs and inspections with project and contractor teams.

  • Support commissioning teams in closing punch points.

  • Witness Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and ensure documentation is completed.


Additional Duties & Skills

  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of quality control procedures.

  • Participate in project quality and progress meetings.

  • Ensure proper calibration, use, and maintenance of inspection equipment.

  • Stay informed about advances in E&I inspection practices and technologies.

  • Work both independently and collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Interpret and advise on implementation of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals and instructions.

  • Proficient in reading technical drawings, site maps, and blueprints.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection records.

  • Adhere to applicable industry regulations, ATEX standards, and safety practices.

  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.


Education & Certifications

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.

  • ATEX Training & Certification to a relevant level (mandatory).


Experience Requirements

  • Proven experience as an E&I Inspector in construction or commissioning environments.

  • Previous work on large-scale industrial projects, particularly in the Oil & Gas or Energy sectors.

  • Experience in quality assurance/control and documentation in onshore plant environments.
