EHS Supervisor – Rotterdam, Netherlands
We are recruiting for an experienced EHS Supervisor to join a world-leading green hydrogen production company on the HyCO5 project in Rotterdam. This is a residential position with an annually renewable contract, offering an excellent opportunity to work at the forefront of the energy transition.
Schedule: 5 days per week, 10 hours per day
Location: Botlek, Rotterdam, Netherlands
Key Responsibilities

Provide EHS leadership and support during construction and commissioning phases of the project

Champion safety culture and promote EHS awareness and best practices across all site operations

Support the Project EHS Manager and broader team in ensuring compliance with company and regulatory EHS requirements

Conduct site risk assessments, support Permit to Work (PTW) systems, and lead incident investigations and root cause analysis

Oversee contractor EHS compliance, contributing to planning, implementation, and ongoing monitoring

Deliver training on EHS procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives

Participate in EHS leadership meetings, performance reporting, and documentation of incidents, actions, and learnings

Interface effectively with internal teams (Engineering, HR, Procurement, Legal) and external stakeholders including emergency services and authorities
Candidate Requirements

Recognized EHS qualification with demonstrated field experience in EHS supervision

Minimum 5+ years of experience in EHS roles on major capital construction projects, ideally within industrial gas or petrochemical industries

Strong understanding of EHS management systems, Dutch safety legislation, and industry best practices

Proficient in PTW systems, SIMOPS, LOTO procedures, incident investigations, and reading P&IDs/single-line drawings

Fluency in Dutch is required; English proficiency is highly preferred

Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and under pressure in dynamic and complex environments
