Location: Boden, Sweden

Residential/ Rotation: 4 week on office/site, 1 week working remotely, on rotation. Working 5 days per week

JOB BRIEF

The role of an E, I & C Site Manager (Electrical, Instrumentation & Control) involves the overall

supervision and management of all electrical, instrumentation, and control aspects of a project on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality and technical specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Planning and Execution: Prepare the site before work commences, including logistics and personnel mobilization. Oversee day-to-day operations and supervise all E, I & C construction and installation works.
  • Safety and Compliance (HSE): Implement, manage, and enforce all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines, local regulations, and client safety requirements. This includes conducting regular safety inspections, leading safety meetings, identifying and mitigating risks, and managing incident reporting.
  • Quality Control (QA/QC): Ensure all work complies with project specifications, industry standards, and quality management systems. This involves monitoring quality control procedures, inspecting incoming materials for damage or shortages, and managing non-conformance records.
  • Budget and Schedule Management: Monitor project progress against the established timeline and budget, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions to prevent delays or overruns.
  • Resource and Subcontractor Management: Coordinate and supervise E, I & C site teams, including direct staff and subcontractors. Proactively manage material procurement, delivery, and storage to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical support to site teams, interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and resolve technical problems that arise on-site.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate site reports, progress reports, safety records, and "as-built" documentation (red-lined drawings).
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for the client and project management team regarding on-site operational issues, providing regular updates and managing client expectations.
  • Commissioning Support: Coordinate testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities, assisting the client during the start-up phase of equipment. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 to15 years proven experience as a site manager or construction manager, specifically in relevant areas such as electrical engineering, DRI plant, power stations, or oil and gas projects.
  • Strong knowledge of E, I & C equipment, principles, and commissioning test procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software, MS Office, and potentially AutoCAD.
  • Relevant safety qualifications (e.g., OSHA, SMSTS) and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
