JOB TITLE: DRILLING FLUID & CEMENT SUPERINTENDENT

WORKING SCHEDULE: 4 WEEKS WORKING (7 DAYS A WEEK) – 4 WEEKS OFF
MISSIONS / SERVICE DIMENSIONS
The service holder will provide technical expertise to develop the fluids, cement, and waste technical and contractual strategy for a 32‑well subsea development on Block 58 in Suriname. They will lead the technical aspects of the CFT and coordinate with relevant contractors (e.g., rig contractor).
They will supervise drilling operations during the execution phase.
ACTIVITIES
HSE
- Promote safety culture within the project and its activities; lead by example.
- Ensure safe and ethical working practices across all managed and interfacing activities.

Prior to Rig Arrival
Engineering
- Lead required studies and prepare the Basis of Design for the B58 Project; present study outcomes in Technical Review Meetings.
- Recommend new technologies to improve operational efficiency, reduce cost, and decrease carbon footprint.
- Ensure CLIENT drilling referential is followed; highlight gaps and prepare derogations with mitigation measures.
- Dimension the Liquid Mud Plant for B58 operations.
- Investigate and promote sustainable technological solutions.
- Identify and analyse operational risks and define mitigation actions.
- Review and sign off all operational programs and sequences.
Contractual
- Maintain regular contact with service providers; keep updated on new technologies.
- Investigate and assess value‑adding technologies; support implementation.
- In collaboration with TGP, prepare technical appendices for Fluids, Cement, and Waste Management services tender.
- Lead CFT technical evaluation, analyse and clarify bids, prepare RTAs.
- Implement remote operations in contractual strategy.
Project Delivery
- Collaborate with Logistics to ensure appropriate logistics base design.
- Ensure accurate definition of transportation requirements for fluids and cement to support operations.
During Drilling and Completion Operations
Operations Follow‑up
- Control and contribute to safe and efficient implementation of drilling and completion programs.
- Guarantee operational execution in line with CLIENT referential.
- Prepare programs for fluids, cements, and treatment of drilling/well operations discharge.
- Assist Fluids Supervisor during operational issues.
- Plan and order interventions for all FCWM contractors.
- Coordinate activities with logistics services to ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure correct invoicing, cost evaluation, and invoice tracking updates.
- Participate actively in audits and SQM activities of FCWM companies.
Personnel Management
- Guarantee adequate supervision on site.
- Foster strong team spirit among rig crews.
- Maintain updated training status for rig supervisors.
- Encourage development of technical skills.
Performance Drive
- Control rig reporting accuracy; validate reports before distribution.
- Contribute to service contractor performance evaluation and optimisation.
- Conduct technical and operational syntheses.
- Identify and implement performance improvement opportunities.
- Participate in launching and executing ad‑hoc studies with head office.
- Propose technological innovations.
- Propose and prepare REX when applicable.
PROJECT CONTEXT
The activity is part of the execution phase of a major project in Suriname.
The Suriname PROJECT multidisciplinary team coordinates the CLIENT ‑managed project for deep and shallow water discoveries offshore Suriname Block XX.
Key technical challenges include:
- Reservoir development and management
- FPSO
- Subsea production/injection systems

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum 20 years’ experience in Fluids & Cement operations, incl. 5 years as superintendent.
- Deepwater development experience; full proficiency in DKD required.
- Experience in exploration drilling and setting up local facilities (e.g., LMP) in remote locations.
- HPHT and NMWW drilling experience appreciated.
- Knowledge of Fluids and Cement contracts and tendering processes.
- Dynamic, highly motivated, persuasive, organised; strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Pragmatic and effective under pressure.
- Ability to work on complex projects with many interfaces.
- Languages: Fluent in English; French appreciated.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Valid offshore survival certificate (BOSIET + HUET + CA‑EBS).
- IWCF or Wellcap certification (Supervisor/Subsea).
