Associate Engineer - Underground Transmission & Distribution (T&D)

We are currently seeking a motivated and accountable Associate Engineer to support the planning, design, and construction oversight of underground electric distribution and transmission systems. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a strong sense of ownership, technical curiosity, and a proactive mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing plans and specifications for underground electric distribution installations up to 35kV
- Support oversight of construction activities to ensure compliance with industry and safety codes
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of standards for underground systems and related equipment
- Provide input into cable rebuild and rehabilitation programs to enhance system reliability
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure projects meet specifications, schedules, and budgets
- Support operations with maintenance and construction-related matters for underground systems
- Assist with conceptual design, cost estimates, schedules, and capital funding requests for underground capital projects
- Participate in the development of plans for underground transmission installations up to 345kV
- Provide technical support functions including fuse coordination, new business reviews, and investigation of voltage complaints
- Stay informed on industry developments through utility meetings and R&D seminars
- Participate in emergency management and storm response activities as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering or project management/construction
- Strong understanding of electric utility distribution and/or transmission systems is preferred
- Effective communicator with ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving approach
- Willingness to work in both office and field environments
