Deputy Commissioning Manager

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Commissioning Manager to support the successful delivery of an offshore oil and gas project. This role will oversee commissioning planning, coordination, and execution across multiple project phases, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance. The position involves international assignments and collaboration with a multidisciplinary project team across engineering, construction, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning Scope Planning

  • Participate in supplier and contractor meetings to communicate commissioning requirements and expectations.
  • Review supplier documentation, testing records, and commissioning pocedures.
  • Contribute to the development of commissioning plans, specifications, and scheduling inputs.

Schedule Management

  • Monitor progress and expedite completion of commissioning deliverables in line with project milestones.
  • Oversee testing and verification activities to maintain adherence to execution schedules.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Track and report status of punch lists, testing records, and certification progress.
  • Ensure accurate compilation and archiving of commissioning dossiers and certification records.
  • Provide timely updates and reports on system completion and readiness.

Commissioning Coordination

  • Lead a team of commissioning engineers and discipline leads to execute commissioning activities safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with construction, mechanical completion, and vendor representatives to resolve technical issues and maintain progress.

Commissioning Execution

  • Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in accordance with approved strategies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with project specifications, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Manage the permit-to-work (PTW) system and commissioning safety processes.

HSEQ and Conduct

  • Promote a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical conduct in all project activities.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to hazard identification, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in commissioning within the oil and gas or energy sector.
  • Proven track record of leading commissioning activities for multiple large-scale offshore or onshore facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning management, project execution, and interface coordination.
  • Proficient in project planning and documentation control, with working knowledge of MS Office and relevant design tools.
  • Excellent understanding of safety, quality, and contractual compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Information

This position requires flexibility for international assignments across project phases. Applicants must be authorised to work in the relevant countries or hold eligibility for work permits prior to deployment.
