Decommissioning Project Manager
Location: Aberdeen (Hybrid – 1–2 days per week in office)
Contract: Permanent

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Decommissioning Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of decommissioning and brownfield modification projects. The successful candidate will ensure seamless technical execution, strong stakeholder alignment, and compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

This is a high-visibility role within a multi-year programme, offering stability, career development opportunities, and the chance to manage complex decommissioning activities across offshore assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, management, and delivery of decommissioning and associated brownfield projects

  • Manage engineering and support activities in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution frameworks

  • Coordinate interfaces between internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery

  • Oversee risk management, quality assurance, and change control across the project lifecycle

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, progress reporting, and performance dashboards

  • Prepare and maintain Project Execution Plans (PEPs) with clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics

  • Manage integrated project schedules covering engineering and environmental services for decommissioning activities across multiple assets

  • Chair regular progress, risk, and change management meetings with documented outcomes and decision tracking

  • Capture lessons learned, identify value engineering opportunities, and implement continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support investment decisions by preparing decision-support packages, including cost estimates, schedules, risks, and investment papers

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Project Engineer in decommissioning projects

  • Strong knowledge of decommissioning programmes, planning processes, and regulatory obligations

  • Experience in offshore brownfield facility modifications

  • Excellent stakeholder, contractor, and interface management skills

  • Strong project controls knowledge including scheduling, risk management, and reporting

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, multi-discipline teams, and competing priorities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred

  • Significant offshore project experience, including decommissioning or brownfield modifications

  • Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget
