About the Role
We are currently supporting a leading organisation in the energy sector to identify a skilled and proactive Cost Controller to join their team in Doha. The successful candidate will work closely with business units and report to the Senior Business Analyst. This is a role that goes beyond traditional cost tracking — it’s about embedding a cost-aware culture, driving best practices in financial management, and delivering meaningful insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor and control costs across various business activities, ensuring alignment with internal policies and international standards.

Provide accurate, timely, and transparent cost reporting and forecasting.

Identify areas for cost optimisation and efficiency improvements.

Support business planning and budgeting processes with detailed financial analysis.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with technical and financial stakeholders.

Ensure effective cost allocation, accruals, and compliance with financial governance.

Promote financial discipline and accountability across operational teams.
Requirements
Technical Skills and Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in a cost control or similar role within the upstream oil and gas industry.

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related business discipline (Professional certification advantageous).

Strong proficiency in data analysis and financial reporting tools, particularly Excel.

Solid understanding of the supply chain and financial processes relevant to the energy sector.

Good knowledge of cost accounting practices, including cost allocation and accruals.

Experience working within structured corporate governance environments.
