Role: Control Systems / Instrument engineer

Project: LNG FEED project.

Location: Leatherhead, UK - 5 Days per week in office

Rate: £50 PAYE Only

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Instrumentation & Control engineering for an LNG FEED project, supporting Concept, Pre-FEED, and FEED phases.
  • Develop and review key I&C deliverables including P&IDs, Instrument Lists, I/O lists, Instrument Data Sheets, and specifications.
  • Support the design and specification of process control systems based on DCS, PLC, and SCADA platforms.
  • Contribute to Functional Safety activities, including development of Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS) in line with IEC 61508/61511.
  • Define instrumentation and control requirements for gas processing, LNG facilities, and custody transfer systems.
  • Prepare technical input for procurement, including budgetary requisitions, bid evaluations, and vendor technical clarifications.
  • Interface with Electrical, Process, and Project Engineering teams to ensure integrated control and instrumentation solutions.
  • Apply experience from greenfield onshore projects to support safe, operable, and cost-effective FEED design delivery.

Candidate requirements are:

  • Strong gas processing or LNG experience.
  • Conceptual, pre-FEED, study or FEED experience.
  • Contributes to the development of preliminary and final stage Instrumentation & Control (I&C) design deliverables, including P&IDs, Instrument List, Instrument Specifications, and Instrument Data Sheets.
  • Experienced in working in early phases of the project, especially Concept and FEED deliverables.
  • Assists in the design of process control systems based on DCS, PLC, and SCADA.
  • Experience in instrumentation requirements for custody metering requirements  standards.
  • Prepares budgetary requisitions and conducts bid evaluations.
  • *Assists in the development of Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS) and demonstrates working knowledge of IEC 61508 & IEC61511.
  • Performs assigned automation-related job functions, including the creation of I/O lists, Instrumentation lists, and the specification of instrumentation and control elements.
  • Interface knowledge of Electrical system and Instrument interfaces
  • Has experience in greenfield onshore projects.
