About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-reliant Controls Field Engineer to support the site execution of a control system upgrade on a steam turbine. You'll be on the ground, playing a crucial part in delivering a technically challenging project with tight schedules and high expectations.
This role requires someone with strong hands-on experience in industrial controls (preferably Mark VIe) and a solid track record in installation, commissioning, and site coordination for power generation or heavy industrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site support for the pre-outage planning, including control panel installation supervision and field device cabling.
- Perform thorough checks on existing cable schedules and control signal terminations.
- Supervise the installation of new control systems and hardware.
- Carry out commissioning tasks including loop checks, static and functional tests, system start-up, and tuning.
- Ensure control cabinet terminations are completed as per design documentation.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with site rules and work permit requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, redlines, and final commissioning reports.
- Deliver brief, hands-on training to client personnel following commissioning.
Requirements
- Previous experience commissioning Mark VIe control systems (or equivalent industrial control platforms).
- Proven experience with control upgrades on steam turbines or similar rotating machinery.
- Comfortable working independently in the field, directly with the client team.
- Able to manage LOTO procedures, job hazard analysis, and safe work method statements.
- Valid certifications for field work (e.g. Electrical Safety, Work at Heights, etc.) preferred.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Willingness to be based at site in Indonesia for the full project duration.
