Contracts Specialist
Location: Doha, Qatar (Onshore)
Contract Type: 1-year renewable contract
Work Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 8-10 hours per day

About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to support a leading energy operator in Qatar. This role is responsible for developing, tendering, executing, and administering service contracts in compliance with corporate policies and controls. The successful candidate will combine technical, commercial, and strategic insight to ensure best-in-class service delivery at optimal value.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and execute tendering and contracting activities in line with company objectives and governance standards.
- Collaborate with end users to define procurement requirements and recommend effective contracting strategies.
- Ensure all contractual and commercial documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and compliant with internal procedures.
- Support post-award contract administration to ensure service providers meet obligations and deliver consistent value.
- Analyse historical demand trends and spend data to identify opportunities for cost optimisation and efficiency improvements.
- Conduct detailed reviews of complex tender documents and provide clear interpretations and recommendations.
- Assess and enhance internal contracting processes to remove bottlenecks and improve customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate supplier performance and market trends to inform negotiation strategies and procurement planning.
- Prepare and support internal and external audits, reviews, and compliance checks to maintain robust contract governance.
- Contribute to the development and timely execution of annual demand plans, aligning procurement activity with strategic goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a Commercial discipline.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in contracts or procurement management within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of supplier relations, contract law, and industry best practices.
- Experience handling large EPC claims and disputes, including delay analysis and time impact assessments.
- Skilled in interpreting and negotiating contract terms with contractors.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
