Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist with Quantity Surveying expertise to join a dynamic team supporting engineering and construction projects based in El Morell, Spain. Reporting to the Project Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in developing and managing contract strategies and ensuring smooth contract execution on site.
Key Responsibilities

Develop contract strategies, contracts, and purchase orders (POs), creating practical contracting plans for project execution

Conduct market enquiries using standard contract models for various site service contracts and POs

Apply commercial contract and quantity surveying models (unit rates, reimbursable, lump sum) and administer contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions

Negotiate and award contracts and POs, aligning technical and commercial evaluations for successful execution

Manage contracts and POs registration, invoicing, and payment processes in contract management systems

Support supplier prequalification, bidding, technical and commercial evaluation, and award management

Handle contract change management, claims, and reporting for accurate forecasting of contract deliverables

Collaborate with project teams including engineering, construction, commissioning, project controls, and commercial departments to meet project objectives

Lead proposal and estimating support, sourcing budget pricing, and benchmarking market rates

Prepare bidding documents, contracts, and PO strategies including technical scope, pricing, quality, health, safety and environment requirements

Conduct bid package management, market issuance, clarifications, evaluations, negotiations, and contract placements

Manage contract performance, maintain contractor relationships, and interface for effective project delivery

Monitor market conditions and business drivers to maximise leverage and minimise risk

Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives
Critical Competencies

Strong contract administration experience from contract placement to close-out

Solid understanding of contract management including lump sum and remeasure contracts and POs, especially for construction projects

Skilled in drafting contracts and POs with legal awareness of contract risks and key clauses
-
Ability to integrate cost forecasting and planning through project lifecycle
-
Proficient in contract management and requisition-to-pay processes within contract management systems

Excellent negotiation, contract resolution, and communication skills across cultures and geographies
-
Strong organisational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
-
Financial and commercial acumen to support forecasting, cost modelling, and contract applications

Ability to work cross-functionally and achieve targets with clear action planning

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and collaborative tools

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
What We Are Looking For
-
Previous experience in contracts and quantity surveying roles within industrial gases or complex engineering projects
-
Professional qualifications such as MRICS and/or CIPS are highly desirable
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Civil) or Quantity Surveying is advantageous

Strong knowledge of contracts, purchase orders, and contractual language

Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken
